Now  Citizen Soldiers by Stephen E. Ambrose. Same man that wrote Band of Brothers. Gruesome, but very, very good series. I just can't take the screaming, so I'll stick to the books. Really good mix of military history and soldier-to-CO-and-beyond experiences in World War II. I don't know who I'd recommend it to but..if it sounds like your thing, READ IT.
